The stage was set for Alice and Jake to embark on their special day, enveloped in love and surrounded by beauty.
Ceremony at Skinner Chapel
The Scarritt Bennett Center is a beautiful historic campus in Nashville. It was originally established as Scarritt Bible and Training School for Women Missionaries in 1892. In 1924 Scarritt Hall, Bennett Hall, Wightman Chapel, the historic Bell Tower, and Susie Gray Dining Hall were constructed. In 1952, Scarritt College became one of the first white, private colleges in the state of Tennessee to integrate, and in April of 1957, the College famously hosted Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who preached in Wightman Chapel. The college eventually became co-ed, and in 1980 Scarritt College for Christian Workers became Scarritt Graduate College. The College closed in 1988, after which the campus became home to Scarritt Bennett Center. Featuring classic gothic architecture that provides an elegant backdrop for weddings and elopements.
The Labyrinth Garden is a beautiful round garden containing one of only two permanent outdoor prayer labyrinths in Nashville. An international peace pole stands in the garden’s west end, with “May Peace Prevail on Earth” written in seven languages. Cherry blossoms and dogwood trees burst with color in the spring, ripen to a vibrant summer green, then transform into a rich, multi-colored canopy in the fall. The historic bell tower creates the perfect, breathtaking backdrop for romantic photos at your Scarritt Bennett Elopement.
Being big fans of history and architecture, Alice and Jake were thrilled to tie the knot in the intimate Skinner Chapel at Scarritt Bennett Center. This beautiful, historic chapel only seats 20. However, the stained glass arched windows and luxurious woodwork creates and ambiance of breathtaking beauty. Sharing personal vows that they wrote for one another as they were flanked by Alice’s father and son, their dearest loved ones looked on.
Wedding Bands
Proposing with a stunning square cut diamond, Jake added to Alice’s jewelry collection. Inviting only immediate family to witness their nuptials, each received a beautiful screen printed mirror with the secret ceremony details. For their wedding bands, Jake got Alice a beautiful diamond infinity band. Alice got Jake a beautiful platinum wedding band.
The Historic Arches of Scarritt Bennett Center
The gothic stone archways and stunning historic doors on the Scarritt Bennett Center campus are certainly swoonworthy. It’s hard not to fall in love with the Southern Gothic architecture. Those stunning Gothic Stone archways at Scarritt Bennett Center make for some of the most dramatic photographs of your wedding day. We suspect that this was Jake and Alice’s favorite location. They were able to sneak away for snuggles and kisses. These two were simply adorable! So much love!!
Beautiful Blooms
Larson Floral Co. crafted a stunning bouquet for Alice, adorned with fragrant roses, peonies, and carnations, complemented by a delightful assortment of eucalyptus. The groom’s boutonniere, matching the beauty of the bouquet, added a touch of elegance to the occasion.
We are just so happy that Jake & Alice chose Elope In Tennessee for their Nashville micro wedding. All they had to do was pick up their marriage license when they arrived in Tennessee and we took care of all the additional details.
